School has started
School has just begun in my area and life seems to be very calm for the moment. Summer sped by so fast and was filled with the laughter of my grandchildren, gardening, reading, and relaxing. Now with the coming of the new school year I look forward to substitute teaching again. I wish that I had a classroom of my own but with the budget cuts there are few teaching jobs available. Subbing has its perks...such as working as often as I want to and having the ability to take off a day here or there when needed. I also never know what the day will bring. Some of the classes I teach are wonderful and others, well they are tough but the kids are always great. Teaching exhilarates me and is fulfilling in ways that I could never have imagined. I love finding fun ways to teach a lesson and always bring treats to reward the students. Work dribbles in slowly in the fall but soon it will pick up and there will be plenty of jobs available. I will be ready when that early morning call comes in. I will jump out of bed, dress, and fly out the door for another new day of teaching.
